At the venerable age of 47, I have finally achieved my lifelong dream: I now have an ultraminimal, portable music studio comprised of a Surface Pro 8 tablet, a pair of AKG K701 cans and a compact bluetooth 49 key MIDI controller, and that's it! This track that you're hearing is made with this setup, nothing more (as always, no real instruments were harmed in the making of this track :), and the fact that I am able to concoct sounds and atmospheres that bring me (and hopefully you, my valued listener) to another era, all from a humble entry level 12" tablet, doesn't cease to amaze me. So what was in my mind when I created this one? I pictured a sunny spring day in 1985 Okinawa, Japan. A group of boys would be playing together in a band, and at sunset the rehearsals would come to an end. The band members would walk along the waterfront, meet girls, have a drink, and enjoy their time together while the sun set over the beautiful coast, and the sea glistened in the twilight. So please enjoy your stroll in Okinawa in the 80s, and see you on my next track!
