Notes from bacter:
I was sick of four-chord songs, so I called Jeenio for some jazz music.
The lyrics were written when I arrived to my parents' place in Tel-Aviv in the end of March, just before revision started.
Back at the time, all non-vaccinated arrivals from Germany to Israel were required to fulfill 14 days of quarantine with an option to shorten them to 10 days providing 2 negative tests (day1, day9).
In a pre-corona era this would mean that I'm stuck at home and cannot go to the party to see my friends, but since revision is an online edition and I'm anyways forced to be home for the long weekend, then it worked perfectly.
....fast forward one month later....
After re-recording the vocals at Netpoet's place (thanks Frank!) and correcting stuff afterwards we finally made it to a final version.
Oh, and don't forget to come to inércia demoparty! (let's hope I won't have to record another quarantine song by then, xD)
lyrics
VERSE 1
It is this time of the year
Revision is here again
No hugs no kisses, only online emojis
The pandemic still with us
Earlier at this time I would go to Saarbrücken to have my easter treat
Now I'm home and the party is gonna start but I cannot stop to eat
Chorus
I'm in quarantine
I'm in quarantine
I'm in quarantine
I'm in quarantine
VERSE 2
Walking from the room to the kitchen, and sometimes even to the loo.
The phone is ringing – it's the police again.
"YES I AM HOME, NEVER LEFT" I say.
The compos will start and I gotta finish my entry
Less walks to the kitchen for me…
Revision is online this year, so in that case I'm happy to beeeee...
Chorus
In quarantine
In quarantine
In quarantine
In quarantine
(sweet quarantine...)
Jordan Vauvert
The bright, fizzy songs on “Dedication 2” were written and played using the Commodore 64, capturing the vintage computer’s feel. Bandcamp New & Notable May 9, 2021

Jordan Vauvert
